Lebanon Evangelical Church on October 21, 2006
This church on the corner of Vine and Park Streets was built in 1910 as the Methodist Evangelical Church. This was the church that had established the Santiam Academy and Pioneer Cemetery, and was the church that many of Lebanon’s early citizens belonged to.

The first Methodist Church was built on this site at in 1887. In 1910 it was moved to the corner of Sherman and Second Streets to make way for the current building. It was converted into an opera house and demolished in 1929.

When the current church was built, Reverend A.F. Lacy was pastor. Stained glass windows in the church are dedicated to early congregation members William and Laura Ralston, Owen Rees, F.M. Miller, and Joseph Lucian Gilbert.

Today, the church is known as the Lebanon Evangelical Church. The metal structure on the Park Street side of the church is an elevator that was added in 2006.
