Oregon Fire Service Museum at the 2008 Great Oregon Steam-Up

Here is the some of the equipment displayed by the Oregon Fire Service Museum at Antique Powerland during the Great Oregon Steam-Up on August 3, 2008.

The City of Portland bought this 1902 American Metropolitan steam fire engine new; it was originally pulled by a team of three horses. It is classified as an "Extra First Size," rated to pump 1,100 gallons per minute at 100 psi boiler pressure. In 1916 it was modernized with this 1916 American LaFrance Type 31 gasoline tractor built to pull it. The tractor has a 75-horsepower 4-cylinder engine and has a top speed of 25 miles per hour. This equipment is on permanent loan to the Oregon Fire Service Museum from Gary Foglio of Florence, Oregon.

This 1907 American LaFrance steam fire engine was built for Portland Fire. It was sold to Forest Grove Fire & Rescue of Forest Grove, Oregon in 1935 for $150 and was used as a reserve pumper through the 1940s. It was restored in the 1970s for use in shows and parades.

This 1944 Seagrave 85-Foot Aerial Ladder Truck was purchased new by the Centralia Fire Department in Washington. It was later acquired by the Clatskanie Fire Department in Oregon. After its retirement it was purchased by Jeff Dahl, and after his death his family donated it to the Oregon Fire Service Museum. It was restored in 2005.

Warrenton Fire Department Fire Truck #2924 is a 1965 Ford F-800 Fire Truck built by Western States Fire Apparatus Inc. of Cornelius, Oregon on August 19, 1965 as serial number 323.
