Pioneer Trust Bank on November 30, 2006.
The five-story Pioneer Trust Bank building was the first steel and concrete fire-resistant building in Salem. It included all the latest banking conveniences, including safety deposit boxes, when it was constructed by J. P. Rogers as the United States National Bank of Salem in 1909.

The United States National Bank of Salem was later sold to the United States National Bank of Portland, which in 1940 acquired a large portion of the Ladd & Bush Bank. The U.S. National Bank ended up occupying the Ladd & Bush Bank building, and the Ladd & Bush Trust Company, which survived the 1940 acquisition as an independent entity, moved into this building and changed its name to the Pioneer Trust Company.

Occupants of the upper floors have included various lawyers, including Carson & Carson, John H. Allan, and Wallace P. Rhoten, Salem’s city attorney William Tringle in 1932, road contractor Roy C. Houck in 1938, Dr. Garnjobst, and Senator Charles McNary in 1942.
