The Dalles Iron Works on October 20, 2009
This building was built in the 1870s and was hime to the Brooks & Beers Store. The F.H. Dietzel Trunk Factory was located upstairs in the1880s.

The Dalles Iron Works was founded in this location in 1905 by J.B. Kirk. It was the first auto repair shop in The Dalles. The business passed through the family to his son W.L. Kirk, and then to his son in law Larry Quackenbush, and is still in business today.
