This MacDonald truck was under restoration inside the museum during the 2010 Great Oregon Steam-Up. There was no information posted with it.
William W. MacDonald established the MacDonald Truck & Tractor Company in 1920 in San Francisco, California. Production of the trucks was taken over by the Union Construction Company in 1922, then by the MacDonald Truck & Manufacturing Company around 1934. Peterbilt took over MacDonald production after World War II, around 1948 or 1949. Four MacDonald trucks were built in 1948, two in 1949 and a few more before production ended in 1952. This example appears to be from this final period.
