Root House on June 23, 2007
This 3,230-square-foot building was built in 1942. At the time it was the Root House, a brick storehouse used to store crops grown at the Fairview Training Center.

The building maintains a constant temperature, which was ideal for storing crops like potatoes, onion and beets.

Because the building’s ability to maintain a constant temperature also makes it ideal for storing wine, it will be used by the Pringle Creek Community as a wine cellar.

It will also house the Pringle Creek Wine Guild for storage and events.

Eventually, the building will be seismically retrofitted for new uses.
