The closest a person can get to Trojan in the State of Washington is the boat launch of the Kalama Sportsmen's Club. This is also the best view of the Containment Building short of being on a boat.

From here, you can clearly see the opening in the Containment Building through which the reactor vessel was removed in 1999 for transport to Hanford. You can also see the Fuel Building and the back side of the Turbine Building, both under demolition.

From here there is also a view of the dock south of the cooling tower. When the reactor was removed from the plant it was loaded onto the barge at this dock on August 6, 1999.

There is also a small rocky island with a beacon on it to warn ships about Coffin Rock, which juts out into the Columbia River just south of the power plant.
