On our family's 1992 California Trip, after traveling through Humboldt Redwoods State Park on March 19, 1992, we visited the Trinidad Head Memorial Lighthouse in Trinidad, California. The original Trinidad Head Lighthouse was built in 1871. It was automated in 1974 and still stands today, but to reach it requires hiking out to the end of Trinidad Head. In 1949, the Trinidad Civic Club constructed this replica in a park in Trinidad overlooking the harbor. While it is only a replica, it does contain the original lens from the real lighthouse, and has the original 4,000-pound fog bell from the real lighthouse displayed as well.

After our visit to the Trinidad Head Memorial Lighthouse, we returned to the forests of California's coast redwood trees.
