The following motorcycles and race cars were on display inside the Northwest Vintage Car & Motorcycle Museum building during the Great Oregon Steam-Up on July 31, 2010.
This 1947 Cushman is powered by a 4-horsepower engine and features a rare original sidecar.
The Indian 348 Chief was the last motorcycle built in Indian’s Wigwam factory in Springfield, Massachusetts before production was moved across town. 1949 was the first year for a number of features, including an improved frame, a redesigned aluminum oil pump, the sealed-beam headlight, the teardrop instrument panel, the Stewart Warner speedometer and the amp light. 1949 was the last year for the 74 cubic inch engine, the Linkhart carburetor, the big fenders, Girder forks, the low-spring saddle, Indian handlebars and the handlebar-mounted dimmer switch.

1953 Crosley Eyerly Special Race Car
This race car was built by Harry Eyerly. It is powered by a Crosley 736cc engine that produces 45 to 50 horsepower. When originally built the Eyerly Special weighed about 1,000 pounds but Eyerly used a drill to remove excess metal and reduce the weight to 750 pounds. The Eyerly Special was raced extensively in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
This 1965 Indy Car owned by Vollstedt Enterprises was built by Rolla Vollstedt and Harold Sperb and was driven by Len Sutton in his final year before retiring.
1974 Oregon Plating Special Champ Car
The Oregon Plating Special was one of a small number of new cars built by Grant King Racing for the 1974 season. The car was built from two previously crashed chassis and its handling was a problem from the beginning, causing it to often end up crashing into the wall. It ended up being stored for more years than it was raced, and was changed a number of times by a variety of owners. At one point it was a successful USAC Super Modified, and it qualified for the 1986 Phoenix Copper World Classic. It was back in storage by 2000 when new owners bought the car and undertook a restoration taking 2.5 years to bring it back to racing condition.
