This caboose was originally owned by the Great Northern Railway. It is believed that it had originally been a 19-foot 4-wheel caboose that was rebuilt in 1909 to a 25-foot caboose. The location of the cupola in relation to the windows seems to support this. It was sold the the Spokane, Portland & Seattle in 1910 and became their #713. It was rebuilt with a steel underframe in 1944. It went on to be sold to the Tite Knot Pine Mill in Redmond, Oregon, and later ended up in storage in Portland until it was acquired by the Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society.
