1914 White Model 15 3/4-Ton Flatbed Truck on August 3, 2008
The first White truck was a steam powered vehicle, built in 1900 by two brothers working in the back room of their father's sewing machine factory in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1910 the White brothers started White Motor Co. and introduced their first gas powered vehicles.
1914 White Model 15 3/4-Ton Flatbed Truck on July 31, 2010
This 1914 White Model 15 3/4-ton Flatbed Truck was originally used by U.S. Bakery to haul wheat around The Dalles, Oregon. It is powered by a 22.5-horsepower 8-valve 4-cylinder L-Head engine with a 4-speed overdrive transmission. It was last used in 1951 and was purchased from Gloria Slape in 1989. Its restoration was completed in the spring of 1990. This was the official truck used at the dedication of the Hewitt Building. It is on loan from Terry and Judy Dovre of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
1915 White 1.5-Ton Model TBC Express Truck on August 3, 2008
This 1915 White 1-1/2-ton Model TBC Express Truck was used by Samack, Inc. of Tigard, Oregon, to haul wood products around Portland. It is powered by a 30-horsepower 4-cylinder engine. The original cost, including a standard express or platform body, was $3,150. It was donated by Hy Sadoff of Samack Inc.
