The Soviet Union’s MiG-15 was one of the first jet fighters, making its debut in 1949. The MiG-15 used copies of a British Rolls Royce engine and was designed using captured German engineering. It was first used in combat during the Korean War. More than 12,000 MiG-15s were built for the Soviet Union and its allies.
