Historic Salem #4K: Hallie Ford Museum of Art

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art at 700 State Street was established in 1998. The building was designed by Salem architect James L. Payne and built in 1965 for Pacific Northwest Bell. It was purchased by Willamette University in 1996 and redesigned for the museum by Soderstrom Architects of Portland. Hallie Ford was a lifetime member of the board of trustees.
