I never posted these pictures from the 1998 Rainier Days in the Park Parade on my website, but am including them now for completion.
Here are pictures of the
Rainier Days in the Park Parade on July 11, 1998. These pictures were taken on A Street, and the parade featured a locomotive from the Portland & Western Railroad, which had taken over the rail line.
Boy Scouts Color Guard
Portland & Western SW1200m Diesel Locomotive #1202 as part of the parade. The locomotive was temporarily named “Rainier” for the occasion. It was really named “St. Helens.”
After the parade, the locomotive was put on public display adjacent to the park.
