Electric Apartments on September 4, 2006.
The Electric Apartments building was originally built in 1920. The Electric Apartments were owned by Portland General Electric in the 1940s and this building was also known as the Portland General Electric Building.
Yeater Building on September 4, 2006.
The building next door was also built in 1920 and was originally known as the Yeater Building. It originally housed Yeater Hardware.
Both of these buildings were occupied by J. J. Newberry’s by the mid-1950s, with a modern façade covering the original architecture. They were eventually acquired by Anderson’s Sporting Goods, and a large wood facade was built to cover the second floor facades of both buildings.
Electric Apartments & Yeater Building on January 23, 2009.
The buildings were purchased in 2005 after being vacant for almost four years since 2001 and were subsequently renovated with the original facades restored.
