Chamberlain Cottage on June 23, 2007
Chamberlain Cottage was designed by Portland architect William Christmas Knighton in the Colonial Revival style and was built in 1913. This was apparently the only cottage designed by Knighton, who was serving as Oregon’s state architect at the time. The 19,603-square-foot building was originally constructed as a female dormitory. There was originally a second-floor porch above the entrance which was enclosed in the 1960s.
