Peter Crawford-Cowlitz Way Bridge on December 17, 2005.
The four-lane Peter Crawford-Cowlitz Way Bridge was completed in 1952 to relieve some of the traffic congestion on the nearby Allen Street Bridge. Unlike the Allen Street Bridge, this bridge was designed to clear the traffic on the Cowlitz River without being a drawbridge. As a result, it also passed above the Northern Pacific (now Burlington Northern-Santa Fe) mainline. The bridge's name is a result of Longview and Kelso being unable to agree.
