Longview #26: Sunken Garden

The sunken garden was built with the original Longview Memorial Hospital, as a gift to the city from Robert A. Long.

The city secured the title to the Sunken Garden in 1939.

Today, the sunken garden is operated by the city as part of Lake Sacajawea Park, known as The Grotto.

The Grotto contains a bench dedicated "In loving memory of Barbara Burrell."
