This building was designed by Portland architect A.E. Doyle in 1906 while he was studying in Florence, Italy and its construction was financed in 1908 by Portland minister T.L. Eliot for use by the E.A. Franz Hardware Store. The Jubitz family bought the hardware store in 1937 and operated it for many years.
