Davidson Building on June 10, 2009
Horatio F. Davidson came to Hood River in 1891. He initially worked as a carpenter, but soon became involved in the fruit industry and organized one of the region's first fruit growers co-ops in 1894. He also erected the first brick fruit storage warehouse in downtown Hood River, established one of the first canneries and was instrumental in the construction of the county's first irrigation system and electric light plant.
