Sproat Building on June 10, 2009
This building was built in 1911 by Charles H. Sproat, a prominent businessman and leader in the fruit industry, to house the E.A. Franz Furniture Company.

The building featured an interior elevator to an expansive mezzanine level and an interior archway connecting it to Franz Hardware. The Franz Furniture Company was organized and managed by W.C. McClain until he opened McClain Furniture in Hood River in 1939.
