Albers Brothers Mill & Broadway Bridge on July 1, 2009
The Albers Brothers Milling Company was established in 1893. This flour mill at 1200 NW Naito Parkway, next to the Broadway Bridge was constructed from 1909 to 1911.

The Albers Mill was renovated into commercial office space in 1988-1989.

The aspect of the building that most Portland residents are probably most familiar with is the artwork on the silos that is visible from the Broadway Bridge.

These hand-painted murals depict the labels of Albers oats and flour products, as if the silos were giant cans.

The original artwork had faded over the years and has been repainted.

Most people only get a glimpse of the artwork as they drive over the Broadway Bridge, but pedestrians walking across the bridge can get a better look.
